In accordance with SDGs 4 and 5, HIC’s ASPIRE WITH STEAM annual summer immersion program seeks a gender disparity in field of STEM education & lack of appropriate on hands/practical experience in STEM. This program will render on hands experience to youths with emphasis placed on girls. During this 6-week program which will train youths between the ages of 13 to 21 years old on basic ICT, Microsoft Office, coding, scientific experiments, critical and logical reasoning, problem solving, arts and soft and leadership skills.
In this light, Her Innovation Cameroon (HIC) is launching a call for volunteers who are willing to work with them during this period.
POSITION: SCIENCE TEACHER
DUTIES &RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Planning and instructing lessons on science topics such as physics, chemistry, environmental studies etc.
- Teach relatable science topics using simple DIY science experiments and videos.
- Enforce class management and HIC policies
- Assessing and accommodating students learning needs and styles.
REQUIREMENTS: Candidates are expected to:
- Be a holder of at least a bachelor degree.
- Have to be teaching a science subject in any secondary school.
- Be located in Buea, Southwest region of Cameroon.
- Have great analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Efficient in time management.
- Able to submit 2 or 3 simple DIY science experiments to teach the students.
COMPENSATION: Note that this is a volunteering position but a stipend will be provided to cover your transportation cost.

POSITION: ARTS TEACHER
DUTIES &RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Planning and instructing lessons on areas such as dance, poetry, music, drawing/painting, storytelling and theatre arts.
- Teach relatable topic using videos and other creative methods.
- Enforce class management and HIC policies.
- Draw a curriculum and present to HIC management.
- Assessing and accommodating students learning needs and methods.
REQUIREMENTS: Candidates are expected to:
- Be holder of at least an A Level certificate.
- Have an experience in teaching art subjects with proof.
- Be located in Buea, Southwest region of Cameroon.
- Have outstanding creative skills.
- Efficient in time management.
- Able to instruct and prepare students for a great arts performance for their graduation ceremony.

- Draw a curriculum and present to HIC
- Assessing and accommodating students learning needs with creative teaching.
REQUIREMENTS: Candidates are expected to:
- Have a first degree in Computer Engineering or Information and Communication Technologies
- Have experience in teaching IT
- Be located in Buea, Southwest region of Cameroon
- Have outstanding creative skills
- Efficient in time management
